I have not given many interviews about Vietnam Coracle, and even those I have were many years ago. When Darren Joe from Upstartist and host of the ASE Podcast contacted me a few weeks ago, I appreciated the opportunity to answer his questions and discuss my website. The interview was conducted in writing and my answers to Darren’s questions are long-form and detailed. Darren asks a variety of questions, ranging from how Vietnam Coracle began to its evolution and what the future may hold for the site, to my opinions on travel writing in the Internet age and the influence of social media. So, if you want to know more about how, why, and what Vietnam Coracle is, please delve into this interview by clicking the image below or read it here:

Very good interview from a humble person! Back in 2017, 2 friends and me were planning a motorbike tour around Vietnam and Vietnam Coracle was our main source to get the inspiration for an unforgetable experience. And as you stated in the last paragraph of the interview: it’s not about the destination, but the journey, the food, the scenery and mostly the people that you meet and share your time and experiences with. This kind of interaction, based on empathy and kindness towards human and nature, rewards you with nothing less than timeless joy.

Your philosophy of travelling – humble and calm – makes your blog so genuine and trustful.

    Thank you for that!
    Best wishes,
    Marco

    Really good article!
I started to read your article when we were lockdown in a hotel in Da Nang. I found a lot of flowers and trees in the hotel resort around us that are very beautiful and exotic to me. I tried to look for their names and I happened to read your articles related to the flowers and trees. I also like one of your articles regarding to the quarantine person. We are back to Canada right now but I still have a very sweet memory of our unplanned journey in Vietnam plus your articles. Thank you & hope you produce more exciting articles!

      Hi Rui Zhang,

Thank you. I’m glad to hear you made use of your extended stay in a hotel in Dananag – lucky to have so many flowers around you there 🙂

      Best,

      Tom
